Maite holds an MA in Economics (University of Zurich), a BA in Economics (University of Southern Switzerland) and a BA in Business Administration (University of Applied Sciences of Southern Switzerland). She has been working as a research assistant at the Center for Child Well-Being and Development at UZH since 2016. Maite is currently preparing three papers with Prof. Guilherme Lichand and other co-authors: one on parental involvement and educational outcomes in Ivory Coast, one on parental investment and children's health and education in Malawi, and another one on a growth mindset intervention in Brazil.
Maite holds an MA in Economics (University of Zurich), a BA in Economics (University of Southern Switzerland) and a BA in Business Administration (University of Applied Sciences of Southern Switzerland). Guohui completed a BSc in Economics (Shandong University), where he got the highest average score of his class. Afterwards, he completed two Master’s degrees at the Toulouse School of Economics: one in Economics and one in Economic Theory and Econometrics. Guohui won the National Lizhi Scholarship (Ministry of Education, China) and last year he was awarded the Laffont Foundation’s Scholarship. His research experience includes working on projects on foreign borrowings during warlordism in China and on economic effects of pony express network in imperial China. His current research interests are in political economy of development and economic history.

She has experience as a student teaching assistant in the course Introduction to Numerical Mathematics, and as a volunteer tutor for students from lower-income families. Mia speaks German, Chinese English, French, and Latin. She enjoys debating - she was first vice-president and then president of the Debating Society at the University of Bonn - as well as ballet dancing, piano, and chamber music.

Last year he participated in a research field project at Innocenzo Gasparini Institute for Economic Research on political influence in low income voters. He has received two merit-based awards: Albo Nazionale delle Eccellenze given by the Italian Ministry for Education, and the Bocconi Graduate Merit Award. Gabriele was also a delegate to the National High School Model (United Nations), where he discussed on the water crisis in the Middle East.

He published two papers on impact evaluation of EU subsidies for small and medium-sized enterprises in Hungary, and one paper on China’s transition from a planned economy to a modern banking system. His research interests are in behavioral economics, structural econometrics, and machine learning. He also likes algorithms, space exploration, American football, squash, science fiction, and Lego.
